Capacitor

A capacitor, also known as a power capacitor, served as an energy storage unit within the galaxy. These capacitors found application across numerous machines, spanning from weapons and starships to even droids.

Galen Walton Erso, a scientist, envisioned creating bursts of pure energy that could be collected and held within capacitors for deployment on planets requiring power. Furthermore, capacitors were integrated into droids, such as the B1-series battle droids. In these particular battle droids, the capacitors represented a vulnerability, as clone snipers could disable the droid by targeting the space between its capacitors. The discharge capacitor was located at the ends of electrostaffs. Soon after the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Bad Batch experienced the theft of their ship's capacitor by an Ordo Moon Dragon.
