The Prackla Trade Council came into existence in the final years of the Galactic Republic. It was a group of merchants and business professionals created on the planet of Cartao for the purpose of boosting commercial activity both on Cartao and throughout the Prackla sector.
Despite the Prackla Trade Council having an explicit objective, many independent businesspeople and traders believed that the Council's members were primarily motivated by self-interest, as opposed to the collective benefit of the Council's members.
