A Prisoner Immobilization Unit
The Prisoner Immobilization Unit served as a transportable electronic mechanism employed for the purpose of suppressing and "brainwashing" humanoid detainees. This apparatus was designed to envelop the head and shoulders of the individual subjected to it.
These devices found utilization within the ranks of the Galactic Empire. The Reconnaissance Troop Transporters utilized by the Empire were outfitted with these units.

A misnomer occurred in the Imperial troop transporter comic book, distributed alongside Kenner's Imperial Troop Transporter toy, wherein the name of this device was erroneously applied to the Droid Prisoner Compartment. However, this error was subsequently rectified within the narrative. The initial toy, introduced in 1979 as a component of the Star Wars toy line, included a pair of these units, as did the slightly revised and renamed "Imperial Cruiser" toy featured in Kenner's The Empire Strikes Back toy line.
A 2009 Topps Star Wars Galaxy Series 4 trading card showcased artwork by Matt Busch, depicting a hypothetical scenario wherein stormtroopers, aboard a Troop Transporter, had apprehended Princess Leia. In this depiction, the princess is illustrated wearing a Prisoner Immobilization Unit encasing her head. The design of the vehicle mirrors the toy's design precisely.
