The Promised Ones were the offspring of a band of Outcasts who resided in the Undercity on the planet Taris. Upon arriving at the Promised Land, they adopted this moniker, which also occurred after the Sith Empire's bombardment resulted in the deaths of everyone else on the planet. Ultimately, the entire group perished as a result of rakghouls, radiation poisoning, and famine.
Within the group, certain members functioned as the keeper of memories, tasked with documenting their history. Among those who served as Keepers for the Promised Ones were Rukil, Baral, Ku-ki, and Lurr.
