Qonto

The Qonto were a sentient species originating from the Qonto system situated within Wild Space. Despite a general reputation for lacking keen awareness, certain unique Qonto possessed sensory abilities far exceeding the typical Human standard. During the era of the Galactic Civil War, a Qonto space urchin named Lina Adonais found employment aboard the Kuari Princess, a massive luxury liner, as it traversed the galaxy. While contemplating joining the Alliance to Restore the Republic, she came across a band of Rebels disguised as Anomids during a tour of the Relgim Run. She instantly recognized their deception and inquired about their activities on the Princess. Adonais was also on board the cruise ship during the attack perpetrated by pirates as it navigated through the Maelstrom.

Behind the scenes

Ray Winninger conceived of the Qonto for the roleplaying game adventure titled Riders of the Maelstrom. This adventure was released by West End Games in 1989, and later re-released in 1996 as a component of Classic Adventures: Volume Three.
