Qormots, native to the southern regions of the planet Yeshocq, were four-legged, stout creatures inhabiting the forests, and consuming both plants and meat (omnivorous). Their physical features included formidable claws and teeth, making them well-equipped. The presence of a singular eye located centrally on their forehead, coupled with numerous quills protruding from their sides and back, made qormots easily identifiable. These quills served as projectiles, capable of being launched at enemies up to a distance of twelve meters; however, the qormot's limited depth perception due to its single eye reduced the effective range to approximately five meters.
For much of Yeshocq's thirteen-month year, qormots exhibited a generally calm demeanor, only resorting to aggressive behavior when other qormots or predators trespassed upon the areas claimed by their small groups. Nevertheless, when provoked, they were capable of displaying considerable aggression. Their intensity amplified during the mating season in the latter part of autumn, transforming any creature entering their domain into a potential target. This extended to fellow qormots, as the females engaged in fierce combat to secure the most desirable breeding locations.
