A former slave of an Imperial engineer, Quagga was a Wookiee. After the engineer purchased his freedom, Quagga, the Wookiee, established a repair shop on the fringes of Tatooine's Anchorhead. Due to his high prices, isolated location, and the intense competition from local Jawas, his business struggled. Facing failure, Quagga decided to participate in Jabba the Hutt's demolition contests, utilizing a completely restored AAT, with the aspiration of winning sufficient funds to open a shop in the heart of Mos Eisley.
The ultimate destiny of Quagga remains largely a mystery. Conflicting stories exist, with some suggesting he became a slave of Jabba the Hutt, while others claim he won enough prize money to realize his aspirations.
