The well-known philosophical puzzle, The Question of Master Jrul, originated with Jedi Master Jrul sometime prior to the Clone Wars. This question from the Master delved into the relationship between the concepts of good and evil. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi recalled this particular philosophical question during the Battle of Coruscant in 19 BBY as he confronted the Separatist Supreme Commander, Grievous.
Matthew Stover's Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith novel, published in 2005, marked the first appearance of the Question of Master Jrul.
