Rancor pygmy

The rancor pygmy, a smaller variant of the rancor, inhabited the planet Dathomir. These diminutive rancors were found on Dathomir following the Battle of Yavin. While some bioengineers posited that they were a species created artificially that then fled to the wilderness, others contested this idea, citing the creature's genetic makeup and reproductive habits. A less accepted viewpoint suggested that Nightsister magic was the cause of the rancor pygmies' existence, but this idea was largely dismissed.
