A refinement tube served as a part of the Emperor-4 beam tube. This weapon contained a total of twelve refinement tubes; working together with four energy cyclers and four low-grade crystals, these components aided in the generation and focusing of the high-energy particle beam. Due to their delicate nature, the refinement tubes were prone to misalignment. It required nearly four hours to realign these tubes so the weapon could operate.
