Reflections III represented the final "reflection" collection produced by Decipher for their Star Wars Customizable Card Game. The Reflection collections (including Reflections: A Collector's Bounty and Reflections II: Expanding the Galaxy) featured foil versions (special cards enhanced with metallic foil on the artwork) of previously released cards (for example, a foil version of the "Disarmed" card, which originally appeared in Premiere).
Each booster pack held 18 cards, consisting of one randomly inserted foil card, four premium cards exclusive to the Reflections III collection, and cards from prior expansion sets. The Reflections III collection encompassed a total of 100 unique premium cards and 100 unique foil cards.
The collection includes 100 foil cards in total, divided into four Ultra Rare, 54 Super Rare, and 42 Very Rare cards.
Reflections III brought several novel gameplay elements:
Defensive Shields: In essence, Defensive Shields functioned as a side-board to counteract the more overwhelming strategies present in the game. Furthermore, a new effect sub-type, known as Starting Effect, allowed the Defensive Shields to be played with improved capacity within a player's deck.
Lightsaber Combat: Lightsaber combat was implemented alongside its associated objectives. It portrayed the duel occurring on Naboo, and it was designed to be a more protracted form of dueling (given that dueling was already an established mechanic).
Maintenance Cost: The maintenance cost (also referred to as Upkeep in Magic) serves as a mechanism for balancing more potent cards by imposing a requirement for them to remain in play.
