A region represented a tier in the spatial hierarchy of the Territory Administration under the Corporate Sector Authority's control, positioned immediately beneath a territory. A Regional Director oversaw each region, and while the usual number of regions in a territory was ten, some territories contained as few as three regions, while others encompassed up to forty.
