Republic credit ingots
Ingots of credit represented a monetary form used by the Galactic Republic, bearing resemblance to the more conventional credit chip.
Appearance
These credit ingots took the form of diminutive, flattened, and rectangular bars crafted from gold and silver-hued metals. Each ingot measured between two to three inches in its longitudinal dimension, with the silver variants exhibiting a slightly greater length compared to their golden counterparts. The surfaces of these ingots were adorned with stamped symbols, prominently featuring the emblem of the Galactic Credit Standard ().
Historical Usage
During the period of the Clone Wars, this particular type of currency held significant value across various regions within the Galactic Republic and throughout the galaxy in general. Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight, employed these ingots as payment to board a starship helmed by the Trandoshan named Gha Nachkt, while he was on a quest to locate his missing astromech droid, R2-D2.
Ahsoka Tano, Skywalker's Padawan, at one point scattered a number of these ingots onto the floor of a bar located in the underground of Coruscant as a diversion. This was done to facilitate her escape from a violent altercation while she was gathering intelligence concerning the bounty hunter known as Aurra Sing and the young Boba Fett.
Furthermore, these ingots served as a medium of exchange on the planet of Mandalore. Specifically, they were utilized as a form of bribery offered to an Mandalorian customs official by Moogan smugglers during the black market conspiracy that impacted Sundari, the capital city of the New Mandalorians.
On Coruscant, C-3PO and R2-D2 were in possession of 40 credits worth of these credit ingots while they were running an errand to procure jogan fruit for a dinner party. This party was being hosted by Senator Padmé Amidala for Senator Aang of Roona, an influential figure within the Senate Military Oversight Committee.
Jabba the Hutt compensated Cad Bane, a notorious bounty hunter, with a briefcase filled with these ingots in exchange for the floor plans of the Senate Building. After Cad Bane successfully liberated Ziro the Hutt from imprisonment on Coruscant, Ziro was transported to Nal Hutta, where Jabba intended to have him executed. Following his act of betrayal and subsequent murder of Ziro Desilijic Tiure, as well as the retrieval of the holodiary containing incriminating information about the Hutt Grand Council's illicit activities, Jabba the Hutt rewarded Sy Snootles, a Pa'lowick, with a small quantity of credit ingots.
