Reversal of Fortune, crafted by Paul Ens with illustrations by Thomas Hodges, was a daily webcomic series featured on Hyperspace from October 2004 to June 2005.
The narrative unfolds during the waning days of the Clone Wars. It was mentioned at Celebration IV that a printed edition of Reversal of Fortune was under consideration.
Shu Mai, the President of the Commerce Guild, arrives on Felucia and has a meeting with the Administress of the Commerce Guild. Shu Mai reveals that General Grievous will be in charge of the Separatist Council for the remainder of the Clone Wars and that Grievous intends to conquer an Outer Rim planet to serve as the Council's headquarters.
As Shu Mai and the Administress travel toward Mai's fortress in their landspeeder, Jedi Knights Zonder and Barriss Offee conceal themselves along the roadside. After spotting Shu Mai, Barriss attempts to contact the Republic. Zonder cautions her that their signals will be detected, but she proceeds anyway, emphasizing the importance of informing the Jedi Council about Shu Mai's presence. As she begins transmitting, a squad of B1-Series battle droids approaches and destroys the Jedi's transmitter, but Zonder quickly eliminates the droids. The two Jedi then proceed towards the Executive Landing Platform, the location of the nearest transmission facility, while evading droidekas. However, they are soon apprehended by a group of battle droids and taken into custody.
Shortly after, Shu Mai communicates with a hologram of General Grievous, who instructs her to come to Belderone, the new base of the Separatist Council. Mai informs the General about the two Jedi, but he assures her that the Republic is unaware of their plans for Belderone. After ending the transmission, Shu Mai immediately contacts Nute Gunray, the Viceroy of the Trade Federation. She requests that he escort her to Belderone in a convoy to ensure her safety. He feigns knowledge of the situation and claims he is too busy to assist. Anxious, Shu Mai departs alone in her personal shuttle for Belderone.
Three days later on Coruscant, the Jedi are in a meeting with Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. They emphasize that the war has reached a standstill and that targeting the Separatist leadership is crucial for progress. Believing Count Dooku to be on Tythe, the Jedi and Palpatine decide to dispatch Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to find him, while other Jedi generals are assigned throughout the galaxy to capture the remaining Separatist leaders.
On the planet Utapau, General Grievous confers with Tion Medon, the leader of the Pau'an, instructing him to prepare for the arrival of the Separatist leaders and substantial supplies of "equipment."
The Republic cruiser Intrepid is on its way to Felucia. Onboard, General Aayla Secura and Commander Bly engage in a sparring match while discussing their upcoming mission. During their practice, they encounter Padawan Ekria, a slicer who has recently joined their unit. Ekria informs Aayla and Bly that she has located Barriss Offee. As Bly plans their mission strategy, Aayla receives a message from Yoda via her subspace receiver beacon, informing them of the attack on Coruscant. Aayla instructs Bly to change course for Coruscant, but he and Ekria persuade her that they are too far away to be effective and that capturing Shu Mai could be more beneficial.
On Coruscant, Jedi Masters Shaak Ti and Stass Allie are searching for Chancellor Palpatine. They encounter Senators Organa, Mon Mothma, and Amidala who are being prevented from leaving the Senate Building. Allie provides them with her speeder to help them reach a nearby shelter.
On Felucia, Aayla, Ekria, and Bly infiltrate the Separatist facility where Barriss and Zonder are being held. They liberate their comrades after battling through a small number of droid guards. As they attempt to escape, they discover a large Separatist force waiting for them outside. Bly and Zonder decide that they must ascend to the roof, and the group moves accordingly. Once there, Bly disables the base's deflector shield, allowing the remaining clone troops to storm the base and extract them. They then proceed to Shu Mai's compound at Kway Teow.
Meanwhile, back on Coruscant, Master Allie travels to Palpatine's bunker in a gunship. A speeder bike piloted by Padawan Drake Lo'gaan soon follows. Drake encounters two IG-100 MagnaGuards and briefly fights them. However, Allie and her clone commandos arrive and quickly eliminate the MagnaGuards. Upon entering the bunker with Allie and her clones, Drake finds Mace Windu, and shortly after, a restrained Shaak Ti and the corpse of Roron Corobb, Drake's Master, who was killed by General Grievous during the cyborg's escape with the Chancellor. Lo'gaan holds his deceased Master in his arms.
Returning to Felucia, the Jedi and clones have arrived at Shu Mai's compound. After clearing the perimeter guards, they approach on speeder bikes and come under fire from droid starfighters. However, ARC-170 starfighters piloted by clones engage the droid fighters before they can attack. As the speeders cross a nearby river, the Jedi jump off and ride the river down a waterfall, eventually entering Shu Mai's compound by swimming. They discover that Shu Mai had left days earlier, rendering their mission futile. Ekria restores the HoloNet and they learn that the battle on Coruscant has ended. Suddenly, Aayla receives a message from Bly. Upon entering the compound, the clone troopers encountered a toxic substance that is incapacitating them. Moments later, Ekria discovers that the compound is about to self-destruct. The Jedi escape the building as it explodes.
On Utapau, Shu Mai expresses her concerns about the future of the Separatist movement, echoing the complaints of the other leaders. Grievous arrives and announces that they will be relocating to Mustafar for their safety.
Meanwhile, Aayla transmits a progress report to Master Windu. She informs him about a biological agent released during the destruction of Shu Mai's compound, a deadly substance that could contaminate Felucia's water supply within days, resulting in the death of the planet's population. She is interrupted by a transmission from Commander Cody...
In the Jedi Temple, Drake encounters Anakin Skywalker, a renowned hero of the Republic. He asks Anakin to take him to face Grievous, hoping to avenge his master's death. When Anakin tells him that Master Kenobi has already embarked on that mission, Drake expresses his disbelief that anyone other than Anakin would be chosen for such a task. Anakin meets with Allie and informs her of her next assignment on Saleucami. He also thanks her for lending her speeder to Amidala earlier and sends Drake on the next transport to Felucia.
On Felucia, Aayla determines that a ground assault on the remaining Separatist strongholds would be the most effective approach. They divide into several teams, each with specific targets. Aayla and Bly lead one group, Barriss leads another, and Drake, Ekria, and Zonder lead the final group. The Padawans are the first to reach and infiltrate a station. From there, Ekria discovers a priority transmission being sent to Bly. She also manages to access the helmet cams of the clones. The Padawans can only watch in horror as Aayla is shot down by her own troops. They discover that the transmission contained something called "Order 66". They also receive a message from Palpatine announcing the end of the war and instructing all Jedi to return to the temple. On the clone camera, the Padawans see the clones combat ready and closing in on an all too familiar door...
