Rhol Yan existed as both a city and a spaceport located on the planet called Kalimahr. Constructed upon an archipelago that extended into the Southern Ocean, Rhol Yan consisted of five major islands alongside a multitude of significantly smaller ones, all fully developed, interconnected by a vast network of hundreds of bridges of varying sizes. Striking white spires ascended towards the heavens, while Cloud Chaser airships of different types floated amongst them. Closer to the ground, structures and roadways adhered to the islands, occasionally extending over the ocean supported by delicate stilts, and exquisitely designed bridges stood alone above the canals. The ocean was scattered with ships, and the inner waterways bustled with smaller vessels. The white metal spires emitted pulses of colored lights in various locations, remaining illuminated even during daylight hours to serve as identifiers for specific islands, buildings, or streets. This made for a visually appealing metropolis, with tourism being its primary source of revenue. Individuals journeyed from across Kalimahr to vacation in Rhol Yan. Inevitably, the influx of tourists also attracted opportunistic individuals who sought to exploit them.
