Rich Handley is an author and editor who has created a diverse range of content, including articles, essays, comics, and stories, for the officially licensed Star Wars universe. He served as both an assistant editor and a contributing writer for IDW's hardcover trilogy that reprinted the complete L.A. Times Star Wars comic strips. Furthermore, he contributed to a multitude of issues of the Star Wars Fact Files, and he co-edited a trio of essay collections for Sequart: A Galaxy Far, Far Away: Exploring Star Wars Comics; A Long Time Ago: Exploring the Star Wars Cinematic Universe; and A More Civilized Age: Exploring the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
To this day, Handley's writing, editing, or contribution has been part of 160 books, including 100 volumes of Eaglemoss's Star Trek Graphic Novel Collection, for publishers such as DC Comics, IDW, BOOM! Studios, Topps, Dark Horse, Titan Books, among others. Currently, he is engaged in writing both articles and prose fiction for Paramount's Star Trek Explorer magazine. Rich is recognized as a knowledgeable historian in the realms of Star Trek, Star Wars, Planet of the Apes, Swamp Thing, Watchmen, and Back to the Future, and he has also written about other franchises, such as Battlestar Galactica, Hellblazer, Stargate, Dark Shadows, The X-Files, Twin Peaks, Red Dwarf, Blade Runner, Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Batman, Godzilla, and more.
