Richard LeParmentier, who lived from July 16, 1946 to April 15, 2013, portrayed Conan Antonio Motti in the film Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In the movie, his character was known as "General Motti."
Born in Pittsburgh, located in Pennsylvania, LeParmentier made the move across the Atlantic from the United States, settling in the United Kingdom. His voice acting talents were utilized in Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2, and he also had roles in movies like Who Framed Roger Rabbit?. He was once married to Sarah Douglas, famous for playing the villain Ursa in Superman. They both appeared with Terence Stamp (who played Finis Valorum in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace) in Superman 2.
