Rick Carter, an American production designer and art director born in 1952, is known for his work on celebrated movies like Forrest Gump (1994), Avatar (2009) and Lincoln (2012). For Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, he held the role of production designer together with Darren Gilford. Subsequently, he also worked as the production designer on Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker.
