The RLG guardian droid system, a product of Arakyd Industries, was composed of a pair of identical droid bodyguards. These units were designed such that one of the 15-centimeter tall droids would remain in a recharging station inside a small pouch worn at the owner's waist, while the other functioned as a bodyguard. This bodyguard droid could operate for up to twelve hours before its power cell needed to be recharged, at which point the droids would be swapped to ensure continuous protection. If the situation demanded it, both droids could be deployed simultaneously. Each droid was equipped with an alarm system, an integrated blaster pistol, a self-destruct mechanism, a repulsorlift drive, and a comprehensive FullSpec sensor suite (including visual, infrared, ultraviolet, and motion detection capabilities). Furthermore, they were programmed to identify ambushes, concealed weapons, suspicious actions, and, when configured, specific dangers. A new system cost 3,000 credits (or 1,000 credits used). An optional remote unit, with a 500-meter range, could be purchased for an additional 300 credits, enabling the owner to remotely control the droid and receive video and audio feeds transmitted from the droids. Although not initially intended for illicit clientele, the RLG guardian droid became a favored bodyguard among crime lords.
