Rodo was a Branded Aesthete Ragithian Human male. Previously a member of the Strikebirds, he was employed by Memah Roothes as a bouncer at the Soft Heart Cantina. Despite his imposing size and profession, Rodo was known for his gentle demeanor. He was also a highly proficient fighter, using his considerable size and extensive martial arts training to be a very effective bouncer. Following the destruction of the cantina circa 1 BBY, Rodo joined Roothes in working at an Imperial cantina situated at a military base. This establishment, known as the Hard Heart Cantina, held the distinction of being among the first dining locations to open on the original Death Star. At the Hard Heart, Rodo's primary responsibility was removing unruly soldiers, workers, and other patrons who became violent due to excessive alcohol consumption. Rodo's path crossed with Sergeant Nova Stihl's in the cantina after Stihl swiftly defeated an intoxicated patron in combat, leading Rodo to recognize Stihl's martial arts prowess. He subsequently challenged Stihl to a sparring match, which quickly ended in a draw as they both realized their equal skill levels.
Following the destruction of Alderaan, Rodo, now disgusted with the Galactic Empire, ejected two soldiers who made disparaging remarks about the event, even after one of them was attacked by an Alderaanian in the cantina. Rodo, along with Memah, Stihl, Teela Kaarz, Villian Dance, Celot Ratua Dil, and Atour Riten, made the decision to abandon the Death Star. Their attempt to flee occurred during the Battle of Yavin. A group of guards tried to prevent their escape, but Rodo and Stihl successfully held them off, allowing the others to escape in a stolen medical shuttle. However, despite defeating a number of the fifteen guards, the soldiers eventually overwhelmed Rodo and Stihl. A stormtrooper fatally shot Rodo in the back with a blaster, and Stihl was also killed.
