The chieftain's hut, also known as the Royal Hut, functioned as the residence for the Ewok chief and his relatives within Bright Tree Village, situated on the Forest Moon of Endor. Furthermore, it acted as a communal space where the chief's tribe convened for village assemblies.
In 4 ABY, Chief Chirpa resided in Bright Tree Village's chieftain's hut. It was within these walls that C-3PO recounted the tale of the Rebel Alliance's fight against the Galactic Empire to the Ewok village leaders, and it was also the location where the elders integrated the strike team into their tribe.
