Rune was a Mon Calamari Jedi, a male being attuned to the Force, who dedicated himself to both the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic during the decades leading up to the rise of the Galactic Empire.
By 1 ABY, the Empire had issued a significant reward for Rune's capture, elevating him to a top-ten position on the Bounty Hunters' Guild's most-wanted list, before he was ultimately slain by a pursuing bounty hunter.
As a Force-sensitive Mon Calamari, Rune underwent training under the Jedi Order's guidance, mastering both the Force and lightsaber combat. Wielding a lightsaber with a blue blade, Rune narrowly avoided death when Supreme Chancellor Palpatine of the Galactic Republic betrayed the Jedi through the activation of Contingency Order 66. With the Order shattered and its members scattered, the newly established Galactic Empire added Rune to its registry of surviving Jedi. By 1 ABY, a considerable bounty was offered for his capture, making him a highly sought-after target by the Bounty Hunters' Guild. It was at this point that an unidentified bounty hunter successfully located and eliminated the Jedi, claiming the substantial reward.
Rune, alongside a collection of outlaws with diverse backgrounds, from murderers to Imperial defectors, is featured as a target in the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided. Bounty Hunter players, utilizing the "Bounty Check" skill, could scan random humanoid NPCs across the galaxy, with a chance of revealing one of the ten fugitives. Eliminating the fugitive added them to the player's collection. Completing the collection of all ten fugitives rewarded the player with two schematics: one for an enhanced version of the DC-15A blaster rifle, and another for an upgraded EE-3 carbine rifle. This collection could be repeated, allowing players to earn multiple schematics.
