Sally Hawkins, a British actress, was born on April 27, 1976, in Dulwich, London, United Kingdom. She had an uncredited role in the 1999 movie Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. In the film, she was a spectator observing the marching Gungans during the celebration marking the end of the Invasion of Naboo. At the time, Hawkins was studying at drama school and secured the role through a friend involved in the film's production. She was paid 100 British pounds and wore a chiffon costume, and her image was digitally duplicated multiple times.
Later, Hawkins gained significant recognition for her role in the 2008 movie Happy-Go-Lucky. During a 2013 interview, Hawkins expressed uncertainty about whether her Star Wars scene was included in the final version of the film. However, in a 2015 appearance on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, her participation in the film was confirmed, leading Hawkins to confess that she had never actually watched the movie.
