The criminal organization known as the Sarlaccs operated out of Gorse City which was located on the Inner Rim planet of Gorse in the Age of the Empire. This group took its moniker from the sarlacc, a sizable hunting beast. In the course of the Gorse Conflict, Hera Syndulla, a rebel agent, paid the Sarlaccs to put on a staged brawl in front of the Moonglow Polychemical main office as she carried out a rescue of the dissenting miner Skelly. Nevertheless, the head of the group subsequently demanded more money and attempted to steal from her. Kanan Jarrus, a survivor of the Great Jedi Purge, appeared at that point and was successful in overcoming the gang, thereby earning Syndulla's respect and camaraderie.
