The starfighters would arrange themselves into a complex "sphere" surrounding the ship. These starfighters would continuously exchange places within the screen, creating a dynamic, interwoven pattern that complicated the process of targeting any individual fighter. Frequently, screen formation served as a diversionary maneuver prior to the implementation of a Cracken Twist.
