The Scroll of the Lost Temple represented a handwritten document once held by Logray, the Ewok Shaman. This scroll featured a map that precisely indicated the whereabouts of the Lost Temple, and it was inscribed in the Ewokese language.
Alongside various pictographic images depicting different landmarks along the route to the temple, the scroll also included a concise account of the Lost Temple, covering its history and intended function. Moreover, the scroll cautioned its audience that no Ewoks were to go inside the structure, or they would face certain doom. The reason for this warning, however, remained unspecified.
While Wicket W. Warrick was looking for a birthday gift for his mother, Shodu Warrick, he stumbled upon the Scroll of the Lost Temple. Having read the description and realizing that the temple was abundant with jewels, he made the decision to explore the building alongside his companions, Princess Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka, Latara, and Teebo, with the intention of finding a precious stone for his mother. Even though Kneesaa reminded him that the scroll warned that any Ewoks entering the building would be cursed, Wicket disregarded the advice, wanting to demonstrate his bravery. After going inside the temple, the four Ewoks learned the reason behind the mysterious warning, as the temple was laden with numerous lethal traps, and the four friends narrowly managed to escape with their lives.
