Scroll of the Mantigrue

The Scroll of the Mantigrue was a historical document safeguarded by Logray, the Shaman of the Ewok tribe. This age-old scroll chronicled an era within the history of Bright Tree Village when the Tulgah sorceress, Morag, dispatched her creature, a Mantigrue, to devastate the sunberry trees cultivated by the Ewoks. The absence of these crucial plants and their sunberries harvest resulted in widespread illness among the Ewoks, jeopardizing the tribe's well-being. Logray eventually devised a strategy to outwit the Mantigrue, concealing the trees through the innovative application of his shadowroot soap, rendering them invisible. The Scroll of the Mantigrue served as a constant reminder to the Ewoks of the ever-present danger posed by the Mantigrue, emphasizing the need for unwavering vigilance to avert a recurrence of the suffering caused by its initial assault.

Circa 3 ABY, Morag made another attempt to unleash her Mantigrue upon the Ewoks' sunberry trees. Following the creature's successful destruction of two trees, which it delivered to its mistress, Morag instructed the beast to rest well, preparing it to obliterate the remaining Ewok crop the following morning. However, Logray, utilizing his crystal image spinner, uncovered Morag's scheme. After Wicket Wystri Warrick and Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka, two young Ewoks, inquired about the creature loyal to Morag, the Ewok Shaman brought forth the Scroll of the Mantigrue and recounted the tale of the Mantigrue's previous attack, an event that transpired before their birth.
