Security collars were a form of bondage collar created by the Thalassian Slavers for the purpose of enslavement.
This type of collar used a heavy chain attached to an adjustable durasteel band that went around the neck. A magnolock kept the brace fastened, and shock panels were built into the inner surface of the ring. The design of these collars made them difficult to escape from and resistant to any attempts to manipulate them; if someone tried to take them off without the correct circuit key, the shock panels would activate, delivering a potentially deadly and extremely painful neural shock. Certain versions of these collars included biometric or voice-activated locks. They were capable of being linked to other collars or a set of stun cuffs.
These collars were utilized by Jabba Desilijic Tiure to control his enslaved dancers and ensure they remained close by. During her capture by Jabba as part of the mission to free Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa was compelled to wear one of these collars.
