The Sedawan was identified as a CR90 corvette type vessel.
This vessel significantly outsized the typical CR-series corvette, boasting a propulsion system of 24 engines, configured in a matrix of 4 rows with 6 engines per row. The Sedawan was equipped with multiple hangars, positioned at least one on each side of its main hull, enabling it to accommodate numerous fighters and smaller transport craft. The bridge area was considerably more spacious than those found on smaller CEC class ships, offering ample room for crew members to move freely.
The ship saw service with the Galactic Republic during the period of the Clone Wars, primarily tasked with transporting lightsaber crystals originating from Ilum. Due to the dangers of the war, the Jedi Masters decided it was too risky for Padawans to construct their lightsabers anywhere except at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
On one particular voyage, it came under attack from Separatist forces, spearheaded by the Devastation. However, before being disabled, the clone troopers aboard managed to transmit a distress call to the Jedi Council. Jedi were dispatched to investigate, only to discover an abandoned vessel inhabited solely by battle droids and several Nightsisters.
