The Senate Guard Academy functioned as the training facility for the Galactic Republic's Senate Guards. As the Senate Guard grew, changing from a simple bodyguard unit into a comprehensive law enforcement agency, the Senate Guard Academy attracted numerous applicants from the Coruscant Security Force's police academies. This influx of CSF personnel into the Guard Academy generated conflict between the Guard and the CSF, a situation that worsened when the Senate Guard assumed policing duties within the Legislative District. This competition for authority between the CSF and the Senate Guard persisted until the Republic's collapse.
