Sense Force Potential

Sense Force Potential was categorized as a Force power belonging to the Sense group of abilities. Jedi were capable of employing the Force to investigate the mental state of others, specifically to ascertain if they possessed the inherent capacity to wield the Force. A protective shield, originating from the subconscious, safeguarded Force-sensitive individuals from unwanted mental intrusions by other Force users. This barrier acted as an involuntary defense, aggressively repelling any probing attempts. To identify potential Force-sensitives, Jedi could intentionally provoke this protective field to elicit a response.
