Sergeant-at-Arms
The Sergeant-at-Arms, alternatively written as Sergeant at Arms, held a position in both the Galactic Senate and subsequently the New Republic Senate. This official had duties encompassing both law enforcement and administrative tasks, primarily focusing on upholding decorum within the chamber.
Duties
The responsibilities of the Sergeant at Arms included the preservation of order while the Senate was in session, as well as ensuring security and adherence to protocol within the Grand Convocation Chamber. Their station was located in the central pod, positioned beneath the Supreme Chancellor and the Vice Chair of the Galactic Republic. A Sergeant at Arms also served the New Republic Senate.
