The shatterax existed as a being within the galaxy, and at least one of these creatures saw use within a gladiator arena.
As revealed by Star Wars Insider 149, plans were in place for the shatterax monster to make an appearance in the Star Wars: Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir comic book series. Nevertheless, this scene was ultimately cut from the published comic. The Insider article, authored by Daniel Wallace, drew its information from preliminary story outlines that he had been given for the comic.
