Shorty (droid)

Shorty was a moniker applied to an astromech droid stationed on Cloud City during the Galactic Civil War. In actuality, he operated as an operative for the Rebel Alliance. This droid aided Cloud City refugees in getting to secure Rebel locations.

Behind the scenes

The name Shorty was also used for the character Short Round in the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom by Lucas/Spielberg; he was named after the dog, Short Round, of film producers William Hycuk and Gloria Katz.
