The planet Sinton, detailed in [Legends](link url), was situated inside the [Sinton system](link url), a component of the [Mid Rim's](link url) [Rago sector](link url). It was positioned along the [Rago Run](link url) [hyperlane](link url), providing a connection to both the [Moro](link url) and [Gilatter systems](link url). The population of Sinton consisted of [non-Humans](link url), and at some point, specifically by [3 ABY](link url), the [Galactic Empire](link url) had [subjugated](link url) the planet, forcing the inhabitants into [slave](link url) labor.
By [12 ABY](link url), an Imperial [general](link url) named [Sulamar](link url), who falsely claimed the title, asserted his involvement in the Subjugation of Sinton, alongside numerous other supposed [military](link url) victories, some of which were entirely fabricated. The truth was that Sulamar was merely a low-ranking Imperial [technician](link url) whose military aspirations had failed. In that same [year](link url), Sinton was located within the territories controlled by the [New Republic](link url).
The planet Sinton initially appeared in the [1995](link url) novel titled [Darksaber](link url), authored by [Kevin J. Anderson](link url), where the character Imperial General Sulamar states he was involved in the Subjugation of Sinton. Later, Sulamar's claims are questioned when he is revealed to be a fraud. Both the planet and its subjugation were further developed in the [1997](link url) Dagobah Limited expansion for the [Star Wars Customizable Card Game](link url), confirming Sinton's [in-universe](link url) presence. The reference book The Essential Atlas, published in [2009](link url), located the Sinton [system](link url), and consequently the planet Sinton, within grid coordinate I-7.
