Sith Abattar

The Sith Abattar, a Sith amulet, was located by Sorzus Syn not long after she arrived in Sith territory. She employed it to gain proficiency in the Sith language, encompassing both its spoken and written forms.

Centuries upon centuries later, during the time of the New Republic, the artifact was unearthed on the planet Dathomir. It was discovered aboard the Jedi training ship Chu'unthor, being among the numerous items stored within its confines.

Six triangular wedges, crafted from an unidentified metal, encircled the amulet's core. The Sith Abattar was designed to be worn around the neck, secured by a delicate, silver chain. When the amulet was put on, the wearer experienced a sensation of significant weight, despite the abattar's diminutive dimensions. This Sith artifact granted the ability to understand and speak any language to the person wearing it; however, extended usage resulted in the weakening of the wearer, ultimately leading to their demise if the amulet was not taken off. Sorzus Syn also commented that it made the wearer receptive to the unsettling whispers of spectral entities.

Behind the scenes

In Book of Sith: Secrets from the Dark Side, a typographical error occurred on page 24, where the amulet's name was incorrectly rendered as "Sith abbatar."
