Sival Brentioch

Sival Brentioch, serving as the seneschal for House Brentioch on the planet Brentaal, lived around 3700 BBY. As time went on, he took on the guise of Arhul Habea, a simple errand boy within the house, and developed feelings for Freia Kallea, the daughter of House Kallea. Learning of her deep desire to explore the stars, Sival secretly used his family's considerable resources to make arrangements for Freia. He furnished her with the scoutship named Hope and secured a commission for her to chart the previously impassable routes between their homeworld and the Rim territories.

After she successfully navigated a path through one section of the galaxy, he intended to reveal his true self, but this was thwarted when she declined a meeting with him. Still disguised, Sival, as Arhul, inquired about Freia's future plans. She replied that for a woman from Brentaal, discovering a secure passage across half of the galaxy was not sufficient. Freia then resolved to accomplish the same feat for the remaining half.

As she journeyed to places like Denon and beyond, Sival longed for her, hearing tales of her explorations and discoveries. Following her imprisonment on Malastare and subsequent rescue by Banu Hydia, Freia eventually made her way back to Brentaal. Sival met with Freia, imploring her to retire from her travels, but she refused. Sival also chose not to disclose his Arhul identity, despite internal conflict. After Freia vanished for a period of six years and was officially presumed dead due to a crash on Nuvar, Sival never lost hope, maintaining his belief that she was still alive.

Unbeknownst to Sival, Banu had rescued Freia from Nuvar, and she was secretly observing him and her family to gauge their continued grief. Once Freia devised a plan to lure the Neimoidians Thoax and Farge Osaax to Imynusoph, Banu informed Sival that Freia lived. During the confrontation on Imynusoph, Sival appeared with a fleet from Brentaal, preventing the Neimoidians and their accomplices from escaping. While he and Freia cared for a dying Banu, Sival revealed that he was both her benefactor and her friend Arhul. They then returned to Brentaal to lay Banu to rest and get married. The newly established trade route was named in honor of Banu Hydia.

Legacy[] The Kallea Cycle: Vessa Brentioch portraying Freia Kallea and Gelod Vothran portraying Sival Brentioch. Beyond being a historical figure, Sival Brentioch held a prominent role in The Kallea Cycle, an opera created by Trebian Shullos. The character's widespread appeal resulted in "Arhul" becoming a popular name choice for children. At the opera's debut on Brentaal, specifically on 38:2:13, Sival was portrayed by Gelod Vothran.

Historians and Imperial archivists expressed the belief that the opera took liberties with the truth in certain aspects, especially regarding the notion that Sival concealed his identity or his position as Freia's supporter.
