Snowfeathers were a type of bird, native to the icy planet of Ilum which resided far into the Unknown Regions; these creatures were Force-sensitive, but non-sentient.
These small, intelligent birds, called snowfeathers, were unable to fly. They possessed oily feathers to prevent snow from reaching their skin, and built their nests in high places within the ice shelves of Ilum. Due to the fact that their flesh was mildly toxic, triggering cramps and bowel issues, they had few natural predators; additionally, they were connected to the Force. Snowfeathers could project illusions, making themselves seem bigger and more intimidating than they actually were in order to ward off potential attackers.
