Soopan, a male Duros native to the city of New Tayana on the planet Duro, once shared a close friendship with Cad Bane. Subsequent to Bane's departure from Duro and his rise to prominence as a renowned bounty hunter, Soopan exploited his past association with Bane. He impersonated Bane, leveraging the hunter's identity to seize control of a criminal enterprise situated within New Tayana's Descent Ghetto.
While posing as Bane, Soopan incurred the wrath of the local sheriff. During the Clone Wars, the actual Bane traveled to Duro with the intention of finding his former comrade. Bane discovered Soopan within the Descent Ghetto, leading to Soopan engaging him in a heated gun battle, unleashing a multitude of his followers against Bane. Despite this, Bane overcame Soopan's forces and cornered his former friend on the uppermost level of the Descent Shopping Mall, asserting that he had to earn the right to steal something as valuable as his reputation.
Bane then presented Soopan with an LL-30 blaster pistols, offering him a final chance at power in remembrance of their past friendship, allowing him to determine his own fate. Soopan ultimately chose to end his own life via suicide.
Afterward, Bane proclaimed that only one Bane remained standing when all was said and done, and he felt no joy in the outcome.
