Spane Covis
Biography
One of his duties was watching for Imperial activity that could jeopardize the Rebellion's efforts in the warehouse district of the lunar ecumenopolis. Shortly before the Battle of Yavin, Spane observed two camouflaged freighters landing near the port. He immediately recognized that something was wrong and alerted his allies in the Rebel Alliance—in reality, the freighters were Imperial Gamma-class assault shuttles. The shuttles opened fire on the warehouse district, destroying the munitions stockpiles the Rebels had stored there.Behind the scenes
In the printed edition of A Hunter's Fate: Greedo's Tale, Spane Covis's Rebel SpecForce call sign was Dewback. However, in the webstrip edition, Spane Covis's dialogue is split between two characters: a Human whose name is not stated directly, and a Mon Calamari who goes by the callsign "Dewback".
