Spear blaster

The spear blaster, a weapon utilized underwater by the Mon Calamari Guard from Mon Calamari, saw action in the Battle of Mon Cala throughout the Clone Wars. Costing 1,350 credits, this weapon was deployed during the Clone Wars. Functioning as both a spear and a blaster, its effectiveness extended to both aquatic and terrestrial environments. Certain Mon Calamari Guard members, upon joining the Rebel Alliance, retained their spear blasters.

This weapon served a dual purpose: functioning as a blaster for ranged combat and a blade for melee engagements. Constructed from costly, starship-grade metal alloys, its slender design distinguished it as a more refined weapon compared to the bident blaster wielded by the Quarren, another Mon Calamari species. While the bidents employed a comparable blaster mechanism, they were engineered to discharge red bolts with heightened destructive power, albeit at the expense of rapid ammunition depletion. Furthermore, the spear blaster's single blade was positioned opposite the emitter, whereas the bident's two blades were situated ahead of the emitter. Characterized by a sweeping, fin-like aesthetic and a slim silhouette, the spear blaster uniquely featured a barrel integrated into the spear's shaft, deviating from the open-barrel design of conventional blasters. The high-energy gas utilized in the blaster was propelled along an XCiter array before being expelled through a sleeve near the weapon's tip. Electromagnetic focusing coils within the tip served as the activation charge. Renowned for its exceptional precision, the spear blaster lacked a stun setting. Its design also allowed for it to be thrown, which explains the designation of spear blaster.
