During their attempt to initiate a jump to hyperspace, the tanker sustained damage, causing it to traverse beyond the galaxy and enter the intergalactic void. In this region, they encountered a sentient spacecraft referred to as Ship. Ultimately, Ship repaired their tanker, enabling Luke and Leia to return to their home galaxy and resume their original purpose.
