Senior Administrative Aide

The Staff Aide, also known as the Senior Administrative Aide, served as the chief of staff for the Supreme Chancellor and acted as the Chancellor's second-in-command within the Office of the Supreme Chancellor. The responsibilities of the Staff Aide encompassed tasks such as publicly representing the Chancellor, managing the Chancellor's agenda, engaging with other individuals as the Chancellor's representative, documenting the Chancellor's meetings and thoughts, assisting in policy development, and similar duties.

It seems the position was held without a defined term, allowing an individual to potentially serve under multiple Chancellors. However, it was reportedly standard practice for each Staff Aide to step down following the election of a new Chancellor, enabling the newly elected Chancellor to appoint their own Staff Aide.

The role of Staff Aide carried significant prestige, granting the Staff Aide the privilege of sitting alongside the Chancellor and Vice Chair on the elevated platform of the central Senate pod during Senate sessions.

Sei Taria served as the Staff Aide during Finis Valorum's tenure, retiring soon after Palpatine succeeded Valorum. Sly Moore occupied the position until at least the initial period of the Galactic Empire. The subsequent fate of the position remains unclear; it appears that it was eventually superseded by the role of the Grand Vizier.
