Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume One represents the initial installment of the animated television program Star Wars: Clone Wars. It encompasses both season one and season two, which themselves are comprised of Chapters 1 through 20. These chapters were initially broadcast between November of 2003 and April of 2004. The DVD release occurred on March 22 of 2005, a single day following the commencement of the airing of the third and final season.
Each chapter, with runtimes between 3 and 5 minutes, centers on a primary narrative intertwined with numerous combat sequences. Count Dooku conducts tryouts for bounty hunters on the planet Rattatak, orchestrating battles among them within an arena. Asajj Ventress eliminates all competing bounty hunters and subsequently receives an assignment to assassinate Anakin Skywalker. She confronts him in aerial combat, pursues him through the streets of Muunilinst, and ultimately leads him to Yavin 4, where they engage in a lightsaber duel. Anakin emerges as the victor, albeit through the utilization of rage and fear, emotions characteristic of a Dark Jedi.
In addition to the central narrative, a multitude of battles unfold, including Mace Windu's engagement on Dantooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi's confrontation with the bounty hunter Durge and the banking clan, Kit Fisto's conflict against the Quarren on Mon Calamari, the exploits on Ilum, and the Battle of Hypori, marking the inaugural appearance of General Grievous within Star Wars media.
