How can a Jedi take up arms against his own children?
Plot summary
Negotiations are underway to bring Cerea into the Republic. In return for access to Cerea's resources, the Republic representative offers technology. Although the Elders want to preserve their low-tech way of life, most of the younger generation, led by offworlder politician Bron, want to catch up with the rest of the galaxy. During a pro-tech rally, a misunderstanding leads to accusations that Ki-Adi-Mundi has committed murder. Meanwhile, the Chevin smuggler Ephant Mon has started surveying resources on the idyllic world.
