The official online discussion forums for Star Wars, known as the StarWars.com Message Boards, used to reside on StarWars.com. These message boards featured distinct sections for discussing the films, the Expanded Universe, exclusive areas for members of the Hyperspace fan club, and even a general discussion area unrelated to Star Wars called the Cantina. A group of volunteer moderators primarily oversaw these boards. Launched on October 9, 2001, the boards were ultimately shut down on June 3, 2011.
