After being dismissed during the Imperial takeover, Stitchy subsequently became the medical support for Lobar Aybock, a celebrated shockboxer.
Edward M. Erdelac, the writer for What's The Story?, conceived Stitchy for his initial officially sanctioned Star Wars contribution, which was the short story Fists of Ion exclusively available through Hyperspace. Erdelac stated that Stitchy's moniker was inspired by Jacob "Stitch" Duran, a cutman associated with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The fact that Apailana previously employed Stitchy was verified on Ed Erdelac's blog hosted on StarWars.com; this clarification came after she was mentioned as "Apa-something" within "Fists of Ion."
