Due to the resulting public outcry, Moff Heedra from the Baxel sector announced that Lirra was a planetary catastrophe. To seize Lirra and its neighboring systems, Heedra deployed Imperial troops. The takeover occurred without significant violence, with the Hutts only filing a formal complaint with Coruscant. Soon after, the Jhank Shel clan members were forced to retreat to Hutt Space. Following the planet's subjugation, aid organizations reached Lirra in the following days, and the appointment of an Imperial governor was anticipated to oversee the planet's reconstruction.
