A sample analyzer, also referred to as a substance analyzer, was a kind of sensor designed to detect irregularities and determine the composition of poisons, toxins, and unidentified chemical substances. A specific iteration of the substance analyzer was the food analyzer. You could often find these analyzers incorporated into medpacs, for instance, in BioTech's FastFlesh medpac. As part of its survival gear, the Corellian Engineering Corporation Survivor lifeboat included substance analyzers as part of the craft's survival equipment.
