The governing organization on Sullust was known as the Sullustan Council. Initially, only Sullustans were able to elect members, but the SoroSuub Corporation gradually increased its influence over the Council. Even individuals who were not Sullustan or residing on Sullust acquired voting rights in Council elections by becoming shareholders. By the time of the Clone Wars, Beolars Bribbs, who held the position of President of the Council, also served as the CEO of SoroSuub. Ultimately, SoroSuub eliminated the Council when it pledged its loyalty to the Galactic Empire. Following alterations to SoroSuub's Board of Directors, the Council was reinstated. During the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Sullustan Council was responsible for internal administration, lawmaking, and international relations, however SoroSuub maintained shared civic responsibilities and remained the primary representative of Sullustans in the galaxy.
